EMPOWERING NEW YORK CITY'S GROWTH AND COMMUNITY WELFARE

As a prominent business leader in the city of New York for more than two decades, Bruce believes that companies should take responsibility for creating a strong and safe environment for all. As such, he has always been actively involved in various initiatives and organisations.

Bruce served on the Mayor’s Fund to Advance NYC under Mayor Mike Bloomberg for 12 years. During this time, he contributed his expertise and worked towards advancing the city’s welfare. He has also made significant contributions to organisations such as the Bronx, Queens, and Sunnyside Chambers of Commerce which aim to support local businesses and foster economic growth in their respective communities.

Bruce’s dedication to the betterment of his city extends to his involvement with the Queens District Attorney’s Business Advisory Council, where he worked under Judge Brown. Through this council, he offered valuable insights and guidance to ensure a strong partnership between the legal system and the business community.

Additionally, Bruce served as a retired director of the NY Law Enforcement Foundation, where he actively supported the efforts of law enforcement agencies in maintaining safety and security throughout the city. His role allowed him to contribute to the foundation’s mission of promoting effective law enforcement practices.

Bruce also served as a director for the Flushing Willets Point LDC (Local Development Corporation). The LDC focuses on promoting economic development and revitalizing the Flushing Willets Point area.

EMPOWERING INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES FOR SOCIETAL IMPACT

Bruce understands that being a business leader involves recognizing the potential of innovative ideas and supporting entrepreneurial ventures. He actively encourages his peers and colleagues to think outside the box, take risks, and explore new avenues of growth and development. By promoting innovative ideas, Bruce believes that businesses can drive progress, create new opportunities, and contribute to societal advancement.

He firmly believes that businesses have a role to play in addressing social and economic disparities. By actively investing in and supporting these communities, business leaders can make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Bruce encourages his fellow leaders to engage with underserved communities, identify their needs, and develop sustainable solutions that empower individuals and promote long-term growth.

Bruce’s commitment to his values is demonstrated by his founding of Big Block Capital Group, a family office that helps start-ups, entrepreneurs, and underserved communities find sustainability and growth.
